Stocktaking made easy
Counting balances determine quantities quickly, accurately and reliably. This simplifies and speeds up stocktaking in warehouses and logistics and minimises errors, not least as part of the annual stocktake.
From raw materials to finished products: The more accurately and fully all assets are recorded as part of the stocktake, the easier it is for companies to optimise stock movement and order processes, comply with legal regulations and use their resources efficiently. KERN counting balances are an indispensable aid when doing this:

  • They are accurate: They count even the smallest units accurately and without errors, if required, with laboratory precision and a counting resolution of up to 360,000 points
  • You save time and money: Manual counting can be long-winded and prone to errors. With our counting balances which are intuitive to operate, the results are available within seconds. Expensive stocktaking processes can therefore be accelerated.
  • They make counting results available digitally: Data can be transferred directly from many of our balances electronically and then processed further. Manual transfer errors are eradicated.
Find the right counting balance for your application now:
  • Simple counting balances: With self-explanatory user guidance on the keyboard. The graphics control panel will enable you to start working immediately, without having to consult the operating instructions. Easy handling, value for money.
  • Professional counting balances: With three separate displays for reference weight (i.e. average weight of the parts to be counted), total weight of all parts to be counted and total number of all parts. Integrated memories are very useful, e.g. for container weight, item number, reference weight as well as acoustic and visual counting assistance and an alphanumeric key pad for easy data entry.
  • Counting systems: The weighing ranges of bench counting scales are often not sufficient to count large quantities, units, items on pallets, etc. In this case, high-performance counting balances come into their own, as they combine a high-precision reference balance with a high-capacity bulk balance.
Terms which will help you in the selection of a counting balance:
  • Smallest part weight when counting: This is the smallest piece weight the balance will accept for parts counting and displaying piece count. In practice, we recommend, depending on the accuracy required, selecting a counting balance, where the smallest part weight is smaller than the weight of the item to be counted.
  • Counting resolution: Describes the maximum quantity which can be counted with a counting accuracy of 1%, with minimal variation of the part weights and a sufficiently large reference quantity. Counting resolution is therefore a measure for the quality of the counting balance.
  • Recommended reference quantity: The greatest source of error when counting is the variation of the weight of individual parts to be counted. In this way, at the beginning of each counting process you determine an average weight, the so-called reference weight, by placing several items on the balance, the so-called reference quantity. As a rule, these are 5 or 10 parts to be counted, in some cases 20 to 100 parts.
