Support for the orphanage Bana Mayele
In many parts of the world, dedicated aid workers are doing great things to save lives and give hope, including at an orphanage in Congo. Now another milestone in medical care has been reached: diagnosing malaria within just one hour and thus saving lives - this is now possible. In Kinshasa, KERN & SOHN is supporting the aid organization Sponsorship Network International with two microscopes. Their team, which includes physician Dr. Matthias Roser, examines and treats children at the Bana Mayele orphanage, which provides the girls and boys with accommodation and schooling, among other things. Thanks to the tireless work of the doctors and the use of KERN & SOHN microscopes, rapid and accurate diagnoses can be made that can mean the difference between life and death for the orphans.
Bana Mayele means "smart children" in Lingala, one of the national languages of Congo. The importance of this initiative cannot be overstated. It gives orphans the opportunity for a promising future, as education and medical care greatly improve their quality of life. KERN & SOHN is proud to be able to make a small contribution to this hopeful project and hopes that it will inspire even more people in the future to work for the health and well-being of children worldwide.
